AI Policy Forum Symposium 2021
ABOUT THIS EVENT
On May 6–7, 2021, the MIT Schwarzman College of Computing hosted the inaugural AI Policy Forum Symposium, two days of agenda-setting sessions on pressing policy issues regarding artificial intelligence in our economies and societies.
The symposium was the first public event of the AI Policy Forum, a global effort launched in 2020 designed to connect high-level principles of AI policy with the practice and trade-offs of governing — taking next steps in designing public policies that will shape the specific uses of AI in our lives, and ensuring that AI systems deliver a more equitable, just, sustainable, and innovative future.
Over two half-day sessions, the AI Policy Forum Symposium brought together leading AI and public policy scholars; government officials and regulators from cities, states, countries, and international organizations; and civil society leaders and advocates — all focused on presenting and debating the work of three Task Forces that are developing the future of AI in Finance, Mobility, and Health Care.
